Greenville SC’s Premier Real Estate Agency Helps Unify Greenville

Located to the west of downtown Greenville on a 60-acre stretch of land that runs from the A.J. Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering to the southeast corner of the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks, lies a dream five years in the making.

Unity Park is the final piece in the “necklace” of green space surrounding our city.

Opened on May 19th, 2022, Unity Park pays tribute to the past and the legacy of Greenvillians who brought us to where we are today.

As Greenville real estate agents with a deep interest and commitment to our community, Wilson Associates could not miss the opportunity to celebrate the unity of our city with a donation.

Unity Park has many unique features that make it a great summer retreat. Its enormous playground and splash pad is perfect for Greenville’s youngest residents. Once constructed, the Honor Observation Tower will give park visitors a bird’s-eye view of the grounds.

But what makes Unity Park so special is that it stands as a testament to Greenville’s longstanding commitment to inclusive and equitable land development. Part of the project included the creation of affordable housing on nine acres that the city donated in the Southernside neighborhood.

In close collaboration with Southernside residents, the Greenville Housing Fund and the City of Greenville developed a plan for the streets surrounding this new affordable housing project. They envisioned a bright, verdant, and sustainable mixed income neighborhood that (like the park itself) reflects the unity and diversity of our entire community.

Sponsorship Opportunities at Greenville, SC’s Unity Park

When the opportunity arose for us to give back to Greenville, we simply couldn’t turn it down.  Wilson Associates contributed $25,000 for all of the bike racks spread across Unity Park’s 60 acres.

We hope these bike racks encourage more people to visit the park by giving cyclists a secure place to park their vehicles.

President and CEO of Wilson Associates Sharon Wilson said, “Greenville is an extraordinary community that attracts newcomers from all walks of life. It provides a place to live, raise their families, and build their careers.”

“Unity Park,” she went on, “like the Swamp Rabbit Trail before it, will have a tremendous impact on Greenville’s continued growth. We are thrilled both personally and professionally that the city has provided this amenity to make our community that much more enjoyable.”

As Wilson points out, the Swamp Rabbit Trail, Greenville’s 22-mile greenway along the Reedy River, will run directly through Unity Park, increasing the number of bicyclists who visit.

With a total of seven conveniently located bike racks, riders can take in the scenery, before enjoying a stroll through Greenville’s newest park.
